Smart Board Programming Assignment # 9

Assignment Directions:

  1. Part I
For this assignment, you will create ONE K-12 lesson plan using SMART Notebook software so it could be presented on a SMART Board in the classroom (you don’t need to actually present it for this assignment). This lesson should include instructions, interactive games, demonstrations, and other interactive resources from “Lesson Activity Tool Kit” on SMART Notebook (refer to a sample linked under “Resources” section in this assignment descriptions page).

To view the sample, you need to download Smart Notebook software first. Please, see the “Process” section on this assignment descriptions page to find a link to download the software. The lesson should be targeted toward a specific grade or age. The following are criteria for your SMART Notebook assignment:
    1. Use a title page template available on The Lesson Activity Tool Kit. (Gallery->Lesson Activity Tool Kit ->Pages->Title pages) Pick one template with “linked” in parenthesis. On this template, you will find “learning objectives” and “teacher note”. Please write learning objectives on the learning objectives page and the following info on the teacher note page (feel free to revise the template to meeting the following criteria. You simply can double click the text areas to edit) :
    1) Title
    2) Subject matter area(s)
    3) Grade level
    4) Class Periods (planned length, minutes)
    5) Prior Knowledge
    6) Standards addressed -- include Colorado Academic Standards appropriate for your subject/ grade level and Colorado Performance Based Standards (CPBS) Technology Standards Under Section 72. Use Text, Graphics, Shapes, lines and interactive resources from the Lesson Activity Tool Kit either from your own clip arts or smart board notebook program (gallery, Lesson Activity Tool Kit , Tools)
    3. Use grouping, ordering, infinite cloner and locking
    4. Use hyper-linking or links on object(s) or pages
    5. Attach a sound (s) and object animation. To attach sound(s), you have to save sound file(s) in your computer. If you don’t have it, you could skip the sound attachment requirement.
    6. You may decide the length of the lesson.

    Part II
After you complete the instructional material with Smart Notebook software, you are asked reflect on the assignment in your Wiki portfolio. Your reflection should include:
    1. A short description of each lesson, including the age/grade level and higher level thinking skill(s) targeted.
    2. Meet Colorado Performance Based Standards (CPBS) in technology under Section 7 and targeted curriculum standards
    3. A statement about any problems, revelations, successes, or other reactions you experienced when creating your lessons
    4. Some ideas for using SMART Notebook software in a classroom setting
    5. A statement about your personal level of comfort using these tools

Additionally, you should attach your lesson to your wiki portfolio so that your visitors can download it.
